I believe my ancestors came from Cork. They were Quinlan's my g/g grandfather was Thomas Quinlan married to Mary Ann Dwyer. I do not know why they came out to Australia, what Ship or year or the type of work they carried out. My grandfather was Joseph James (known as Jim) Quinlan he had 2 sons James Bernard Patrick Quinlan( Jimmy) and Leslie Allan Quinlan. They were all involved in horse training, racing and jockeys. They were all in the butchery trade.

I believe the first Australian Quinlan's lived in Victoria possibly in the Warrnambool district. I feel my grandfather may have had another family in Victoria Australia as he did not marry my grandmother till he was 55 yrs old.
I would appreciate any assistance with this family research......Lesley Russell (nee Quinlan)
