Quinlan family, coopers in Cork City

I have just come across correspondence from 1984 between my late father Gerald Quinlan and Finbarr Quinlan, who was a cooper and lived in Cork City. I would like to contact any family of Finbarr, and if possible trace a connection with my great-grandfather William Quinlan who was a cooper in London in the mid-19th century. The 1901/1911 censuses and turn-of-the-century trade directories for Cork City and Clonakilty show several Quinlans who were coopers - perhaps it was a trade that generally passed from father to son ?

Any help or advice would be most welcome.
