Don't know if this will help you... April 25 1956 EXETER,NH Mrs. Mabel A. Quimby, 80, widow of Byron H. Quimby, died yesterday at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Catherine Benoit, of 5 School Street, with whom she resided. A native of Concord, she was born Dec 18 1875 the daughter of Thomas C and Elizabeth (Moses) Haynes and had lived in this town for the past nine years. Her survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James C. Rathbone of Exeter, and Mrs Julian Lashua, of Concord, four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Pierce of East Lebanon, Maine, Mrs. Joseph DeFosse of Franklin and Mrs. Joseph H. Latouche of East Concord. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In 1900 census, Byron, born May 1866 in New Hampshire, was single, living in Dunbarton,NH. In 1910, Byron, his wife Mabel are living with her mother in Concord;, Mabel's mother's last name here is Johnson, also living with her are granddaughters Catherine and Ruth Johnson. This census was done April 20th. On same census year, 1910, Byron H. Quimby, married, but wife is not present, is also in Newburyport,Mass living with Lydia Quimby, his mother, census was done May 2nd. In 1930, Byron is still livng in Concord with Mabel as head of household. There has been no children in the household in these census' of Byron & Mabel. The confusing part of this, is that Byron E. was living in 1920 in Manchester, with his half-brother, Thomas Daley, aged 31, born England. His father is listed as born in New Hampshire, while his mother's birthplace is listed as England. My guess is that Mabel is Byron H.'s 2nd wife. Notify Administrator about this message?
