The online free database of the census of Chelsea, Orange Co., VT, 1850, has names listed in alphabetical order, so households are not shown, but these individuals were included: QUINBY, Major, 32; Philma/Philura, 26; Delcina M., 6; George, 3; Charles, 2. Eldest QUINBY of Chelsea in 1850, James, 56, & Nancy, 54. In 1860, the online database does show households, Northfield, Washington Co., VT, QUIMBY: Major, 43; Philena, 36; Dulcona {Dulcena}, 16; George, 14; Charles, 12; Lavette, 6; Hattie, 3. Dennis, 30; Jane, 28; Frank, 8; Willie, 4. Nancy, 66--in household of Josiah ABBOTT, 30, wf. Sarah, 30. In 1870, Northfield, Washington Co., VT, households aren't shown on the online database, but these are in this order, QUINBY: Philura, 46; Nettie, 16 {Lanette?}; Nancy, 75. Dennis, 38; Jane, 37; William, 12; Nida, 7. In 1880, Northfield, Washington Co., VT, only one household shows up on FamilySearch, all births in Vermont, QUIMBY: Charles E., 31, railroad employee Wife Ida I., 27 Sons Charles E., 9; Austin C., 5; Nelson W., 1. In 1900, Ida QUIMBY, b. Sep. 1852, VT, widow, was head of household, had six ch., six living, Barre, Washington, VT. Others in household Patrick, 35, & Marguerite, 30 HURLEY; John CULLUM, 25; John CORBIN, 46; Leroy J. Persons, 38; Fred WELLS, 18. Barre City Directory of 1885 lists Ida with a boarding house at 12 Elm. Online post says Ida was daughter of Miriam _ & Humphrey HADLEY. These are the places I found a Humphrey HADLEY on Vermont censuses: Orange Co., 1800; Windsor, 1820; Rutland, 1830; Orange, 1840. Newbury, Merrimack, NH, 1850, Humphrey HADLEY, 55, & Miriam, 51. Northfield, Washington, VT, 1860: Marian HUDLEY {sic}, 60, & Dulcena M., 34. Hill, Merrimack, NH, 1880, COLE, Charles, 60, he & parents b. NH Wf. Delcena COLE, 54, b. VT, parents b. NH Mother Parenelia COLE, 88, VT MA MA Mother-in-law Miriam HADLEY, 80, NH NH NH Other Charles EASTMAN, 15, NH. In Northfield, VT, 1880, there were also HADLEY, David W., 72, VT NH NH; wf. Benjamin {?} QUIMBY came to this town from Sandwich, NH, at an early day. He served in the Revolution. He had eight children, including Major Aaron, who married Elizabeth WELLS & had eleven children, of whom True QUIMBY m. Caroline KIBLING {KIPLING?} & had seven ch., including Lorenzo K., who m1. Aaron QUIMBY, b. 1733, moved to Derryfield, now Manchester, NH, and to Weare, where he had later had an inn, site of the "Pine Tree Riot." He was among those who asked for the incorporation of Hawke, now Danville, NH, which was incorporated 20 Feb. 1760. He served in the French and Indian War and was promoted to major in the Revolution. He had brothers Moses & William who accompanied him on some of the moves. Censuses show a Benjamin QUIMBY of Essex Co., VT, in 1810, & of Caledonia Co., 1820. In Lyndon, Caledonia Co., 1830, QUIMBY, Daniel & Daniel, Jr., Jen {True?}, & Thomas. Elsewhere in Caledonia Co., Aaron, Hubbard, Ira (2), Richard, & Samuel. In Lyndon & Lyndon Center, Caledonia, 1860, QUIMBY Aaron, 83, with Rheuben, 62, & Eliz., 51, MOULTON.
