I am searching for any information about Catherine QUIMBY who married Samuel MOODY. I know very little about this couple as I have only just learned from the DAR her maiden name. Samuel MOODY b.1758 NH (poss. Brentwood area), was a Fifer in the Rev. War for the NH troops, he re-enlisted as a Sgt. He was living in Shapleigh, York Co, ME then in Wakefield, NH and the Tamworth, Carroll Co., NH area then eventually settled in the Solon/Bingham, Somerset Co., ME area. When he was applying for his Rev. War pension, his court papers were from the town of Solon, ME. Samuel died in Bingham or Solon, ME in 1836. There were no children's names mentioned on the DAR record, so that is why I am here. I am wondering if anyone has further info on this family, particularly Catherine Quimby's family. There are Several Quimby's married into the Clement Moody line of MOODY's from NH I have noticed and there may be others. This Samuel is most probably from the Clement line of Exeter, NH...as he seemed to travel about where his most likely brother Edward MOODY did. Edward Moody was also living the same areas as Samuel was in NH and then Edward also moved to the Bingham, ME area...he supposedly died in Corinna, Penobscot, ME which was at one time all part of Somerset Co. Edward was married 2nd to Mehitable BROWN. If anyone can help I would be most greatful. Thank you. Notify Administrator about this message?
