My g-g-grandmother was Sarah Quimby Pierce, born in Kentucky circa 1837. Our family folklore says we are related to President Franklin Pierce - that he was an uncle or great uncle to my g-grandmother. My parents have a lock of hair and a note or something. I tried to follow Franklin Pierce's cousins down the line, but ran into dead ends.
My Sarah ended up in Dayton Ohio married to a Jacob Franklin Lentz. Their daughter Martha married a McGee; my McGees ended up in Rochester NY.
Sarah and Jacob had 6 children: Fredie (1863), Minnie (1865), Getrude (1867), Martha/Mattie (1871), Hirham (1873), Siras (1876).
Can anyone help me find Sarah's ancestors, or what the Quimby connection might be?
