Hi Jami,
First,gather whatever info you can from living relatives and friends.You need,names dates,places of birth and death names of churchs cemetarys anything associated with a persons life and death.Although our name has changed it's spelling over the years.Mainly due to poor recording by gov.census takers and our own family not writing things down correctly.You will find the original spelling was QUILLINAN and before that the galic spelling varies also.
Try O'CUILLENAN and other variations.There are literally thousands of sites on the net for genealogy research and most want your money,but lots are free.Use your search engine,and spell the name different ways.Check out GENWEB sites.Community,town,state,province,and country sites.Most have genealogy sections to help you.
