John Roscoe and Ruth Quillen

I am looking for information about my ggggrandfather and mother. All I know is their names were John and/or Roscoe Quillen and wife Ruth. They had a daughter named Mattie Cornelia who married Carter Brown of the Anderson, Campbell, Knox county Tennessee area. John was supposed to have died 3 months before Mattie was born in 1884-7 time frame. Ruth was listed as a widow and mother of one child on the 1900 Campbell county federal census. Mattie and Carter were married in Aug 1899. My great-aunt called Mattie's father Roscoe but on Mattie's death certificate, Carter listed her father as John Quillen so his name maybe John Roscoe. A John Hill signed for Mattie to marry Carter since she was underage. I am not sure if that is important or not. One family member said our grandmother mentioned a Charles Quillen as a brother to one of them but wasn't sure whose brother he was. Any information would be appreciated. I have hit a major dead end. Thanks
