I believe I've found Joseph's family. His parents were James (1838) and Margaret (1815- no maiden name). They arrived on the "Wave" 3 May 1849 with their children: Michael(1830), Margaret(1836), Joseph(1838), Ellen(1840), Charles(1842), Mary(1844), James(1842) and an infant Doroty(1849) born aboard the ship. Their names were incorrectly spelled "Quighaley". They departed from Dublin (not sure date or home-town origin), and I cannot find that the schooner was registered in New York or Ireland. Do these people sound familiar to anyone? I found them in a New York Census of 1850, but it had no names other than James Sr. and ages and genders of wife and children. I'm not sure if father James took his family to Missouri, or only his sons Joseph and Michael settled in Pleasant Hill (in 1860's - '70's) as adults. Help, anyone?
