Hi Bryan, I am not sure where my family came from in the Ilocos region and that is what I am dying to find out. I have met many Ilocano Quevedos in the US and I am always at a loss to pinpoint my origin. Some says its Sarrat and some says its Vigan but no one is really sure. But the name "Cinton" rings a bell. I heard it in my youth many times. Unfortunately, my grandfather, Jacinto, died before I was born and I don't know much about him. In his old age, he was described to me by my siblings as a silver-haired, imperious, aristocratic old man whose word was obeyed by everyone in the family. But that description probably fits a lot of people during that time. I don't know anything at all about my grandmother. My only clue to my origin is the family's migration to the provinces south of Manila. Not many Quevedos went that way. But then again, Ilocanos are wanderers and they are now all over the world. Also, all of Jacinto's children are given Greek names i.e. Melquiades, Meliton, Hermogenes, Romana. I don't know if that will help but it is a clue. My father was born in 1904 in Lucban, Quezon. Assuming that he was born a few years after Jacinto arrived in Lucban, that means he left Ilocos in late 1800 or early 1900. That was a very long time ago. I would really appreciate any information you could shae with me. My family lives in Guilford, Connecticut. Thanks, Rodrigo Notify Administrator about this message?
