The history of the family is well recorded in the book "Le Maréchal Louis-Achille Baraguey d'Hilliers 1795 -1878 Sa famille et Ses Alliances". The family tree extends to 1983. Nicholas Louis Quesnel(1713-1785) married a first cousin of louis Achille Baraguey and so the offspring of that union appear in detail in the book.
My great grandfather, Charles Robert Quesnel who was married to Marie Lockhart was the head of Quesnel freres et Cie in 1864.He migrated to Venezuela and later to Trinidad, West Indies, where I live.
His grandfather was Edouard Prosper Quesnel, an extremely wealthy man who spent more than one million francs to build a road from the main road to his chateau at Auzonville. Two of his daughters were Countess Clémentine de Pégueirolles and Countess Mathilde de Vaucelles. He died in 1850.
Enough for now.
