Both of you are right - they are both French and Indian.The Quesnel line started out as fur traders and many of them intermarried with the Native.Others of them simply lived there.Antoine Quesnel married a Seguin, whose mother was a Raizenne/Rising.Her parents were both kidnapped out of Deerfield, Mass and taken as children to Quebec.There are records of their baptisms and marriage.They were ransomed by their families after the war, but chose not to go back, preferring to stay "en sauvage".
