My grandfather was Walter Quincy born 1895 to Minnie Kloepping & William Emil Frank Quense
(Quense). William was the son of Frederick Quense & Caroline (M)(W)aidt. He was born in Braunschweig. Frederick had an older brother Charles & a sister Augusta (m) (?) Hess.
Frederick & Charles came to America through Louisiana approx 1848. I believe they lived in Texas & Missouri before eventually settling in Hoboken, NJ.
Frederick served in the Civil War. He married Caroline(Lena) in Brooklyn Ny. They had the 1st son there August born in 1855.
I have more info on them in Nj. I have papers stating Charles/Karl being born in Gittelde, Germany.
Any connection?
Jan
