Hi Maureen...I am sending you another reply as I may have discovered some info of interest to you. Last fall (2003) I was in Sligo and did alot of digging about Queenans. Didn't find my Patrick yet...but got lots of clues. I found most of the Queenans were from the Kilglass area - not too far from Easkey. However since returning, I found some Cemetery records from Co. Sligo (Templeronan Cemetery - http://www.interment.net/data/ireland/sligo/templeronan/templeronan.htm.

that may contain your Michael and Bridget. The inscriptions show Michael Queenan, d. December 14, 1911, age 82 and Bridget his wife, di. June 14, 1924, age 94 years. The inscription also has the name Cuppenagh on it. In looking at a map this looks like a small village in the area.

I know this is a long shot...but perhaps it might help.

I am really looking for a generation ahead of Michael - so if you get some clues about his father let me know.
Thanks and good luck.
Sandi
