Hi Sandra...I just made a Queenan discovery that may be a longshot in finding your Patrick. I have found a Patrick, born either 1839 or 40 in Ireland. In the 1851 census, he was living with his family in Derby England. His father is Michael Queenan, b. 1805 or 6 in Ireland, Mother Catherine, b. 1813, and children, Thomas, age 14, Patrick, age 11, Peter age 8 and Edward age 6. They were living in the same area of Derby that my Parick Queenan was said to be living in...so that is how I found them.
It is certainly possible that he then went on to the US as the port of Liverpool is not so far from Derby. And as yet I hae not found any trace of the family continuing on in Derby.
Does any of this fit with your research...if so, let me know. Good luck with finding your Queenans.
Sandi
