Sorry I have no info prior to 1865. My known ancestors are mainly from the Easky and Kilglass parishes of Co Sligo. Perhaps a query to the current pastors would yield some clues or even a hit. Next time I visit (2003 please God) I plan to take some time to to check the baptismal records.

The Queenans in Ireland are mostly found in the adjacent counties of Sligo, Roscommon and Mayo. The name comes from the Gaelic O'Cuinnean (oh'kun'yawn) and was anglicised by the Brits to make administration easier. Other anglicisations are Cunnane and Kinane. The Sligo pages on Roots.com (Irish GenWeb) has 1901 census data giving the locations of about ten of our Roscommon cousins and many more quaint gems. It is worth a visit if you have not been there already...
