My father is now aware of this site - and might be able to help you out regarding Patrick - at this moment he's looking for the old family tree.

Regarding Dublin to Silgo it's more like a weekend trip but can it be done overnight however you may spend most of time traveling. If your really crunched for time - you could check with Aer Lingus or maybe Ryan Air about flights from Dublin to Silgo. Last I remember the train service was rather slow - and you would be better off with a car.
