Several weeks ago while in St. Louis on business I ordered both books on the Quattlebaums. The M.M. Quattlebaum book and Paul Quattlebaums book.
As I figured, I traced my line back to Petter through Johannes. But as both books shared some of the same info, they both stopped with my grandfather, George Washington, son of Gilbert Green.
There are listings of some of my grandfathers brothers and sisters children but not all. I recalled dad talking about one of his aunts mentioning to grandpa that there was someone gathering family information for inclusion in a family history. The aunt asked if he (grandpa) wanted to include his family in it and he refused as he, according to dad, figured it was someone just trying to get money out of them some way or the other.
Which one it was, M.M or Paul who had sent the letter(s) out for information I don't know. But the books are a part of my family history now and as an 8th generation Quattlebaum I will update a page to include in the books. I can add not only my father and myself but also my 2 sons and current grandson and grandaughter, 9th and 10th generation Quattlebaums.
