Dear Cousins, I am a GGG Grandson of a woman named Catherine Quattlebaum, who was born about 1789 in Edgefield District, South Carolina and was married to a William Currie. I believe they ended up in eastern Alabama, as that is where their children all ended up. Now, I don't know this for sure, but I believe Catherine's father was probably Johannes Petter Quattlebaum, whom I am sure many of you are familiar with. At this point, I cannot prove it, but I have seen a record with an unnamed daughter born to Johannes Petter Quattlebaum at the time Catherine was born. My question is, I would like to know from one or more of the "authorities" on the Quattlebaum family a basic history and outline of the Quattlebaum family. So far, all I have been able to figure out about this particular Quattlebaum line is that it was and still is in South Carolina, may have come there from Pennsylvania, and before that Germany, and also that some of them migrated to Arkansas. I would also like to be informed of what public sources are available to me on the Quattlebaum family history, as I am woefully lacking on this part of my family. Also, if anyone has a complete list of the children of Johannes Petter Quattlebaum, I would love to see that. Any help would be welcomed and appreciated.
