Thanks for your reply to my posting. I've since connected Carl and Caroline [nee Lentz] to my mother's paternal line. Carl Quast was my great-grandfather John Frederick Quast's brother. The name Albert Quast did not come up at all in the Trinity Evangelical church [Milwaukee] records where I made this eureka! discovery in a wide assortment of parish records. The Quast families lived very modest lives in what was the north side of Milwaukee, and were members of Trinity Evangelical Church [liberal denomination, now U.C.C.], which was _not_ the same as Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church [more conservative].
It's possible Albert was related to a Herman Quast who spent about 20 years in Milwaukee, but moved north to Ozaukee Co. in the late 1890s? I was not able to determine that Herman Quast was related - but based on one record, I believe he came from the same general area in West Prussia [Westpreussen] near the town of Jastrow, now part of Poland and called called Jastrowie.
I mention this as just a possible link, or point of reference, for your Quast research.
