Augustus Quarterman, Montevideo and White Oaks Plantations

My great-grandfather Augustus Quarterman was a slave on Montevideo and White Oaks plantations. I am trying to locate plantation rolls, letters or documents that mention Augustus. He was mentioned in several letters in the book,The Children of Pride. My family and I are very interested in obtaining more information about Augustus. My mother, aunt and I attended the annual meeting at Liberty Church last year and were told that when Augustus died, the Church saluted him. He died in 1914 and I would like to know if any of you know where I might find documentation of that event. I would appreciate hearing from any of you. I did meet David Quarterman at the Church last year and was impressed by the documentation of the Quartermans.
