First check Hinshaw's "Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy," and then check the sequels that Heiss did.A good genealogy library or history room should have these available. If you live near a major Quaker record center, such as Greensboro in Guilford County, or a LDS (Mormon) branch library, you may be able to find microfilm of the actual minutes, which will give you more details than the abstracts in Hinshaw and Heiss. There are also some Quaker websites, such as Quaker Roots (part of Rootsweb) that may also have some information. If he was dismissed for "marrying out of unity," which can have more than one meaning, it will be noted in the minutes of the particular congregation, provided all those records are intact.Sadly, some have been lost.
