Well, apparently Ellen Ellerman was not a friend.... unfortunately, when a Friend married out, the Quaker records didn't name the non-Quaker spouse....these were, though, records of the Quakers, the meeting members, not whom they married outside the faith - unfortunately, for researchers. The only exception is that occasionally, with a woman who marries out they will say (as in the case of one of my ancestors) Catharine Morgan (form. Jenkins) dis mou, so we had the last name of her husband, if not the given name.
I found the following in the Bush River mm records;
John Elliman, Sr d 9-5-1775 a 79 yrs 3 mo
but can find nothing of a wife... other spellings of the name are Elliman & Elleman - both used pretty interchangably in the records..so, keep you eye open for them when researching.
