Ross, Wright, Ballinger regarding Quakers & Cherokee Trail of tears to Okla
I was wondering if anyone has any information on any connection between the Quakers and the indian movement of the Trail of Tears toCherokee Indian territory in Oklahoma. My family were Quakers in Miami Co Ohio and off branch family members ended up In Indian Territory Okla by 1870. They are associated with the descendants of Chief John Ross and Elijah Hicks. My ancestors are Wrights, Jones, Motes, Patty,Embree& Ballingers to name a few whom I know hadWrights & Ballingers had associations with Alexander Ross, but didnt know if he was related to Chief John Ross. Everytime I research my Quaker family in Maimi OH I find myself reading about the Quakers and the Indian Removal. I can not find a direct connection other than surnames. Does anyone know anything about Miami Co Ohio connections to the Trail of Tears?
Thank you
