William Henry Ford b.5 Sep 1847 or 1845 d.10 Dec 1934 Riverside County, California. We don't know if he was born in PA or OH. I was told that the family that disowned him lived in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. He was in the 23rd Infantry Co. C Pennsylvania during the Civil War when he joined he was too young to carry a gun so they made him a musician. There's a monument at Gettysburg for the 23rd Infantry he's on the plaque. His father was William Henry Ford who went by Henry Ford. Also the name may have been spelled Fordt, Fort, Forte, Fordte. Someone misunderstood the name when one of the two were mustered in. So in order for William Henry Ford b. 1847 to get his pension he had to keep spelling the name Ford. William Sr. died at the Battle of Gettysburg.

Thanks,

Jerry
