Crawfords?

My direct line ancester is Joseph Crawford born 1803 in Kentucky. He is the son of an Edward Crawford and Abigail Trowbridge. Edward was born in Pennsylvania in 1764. What I am wondering is if there is a connection to the Quakers and the Crawfords? I know that Edward himself was not a Quaker. he is known as a travelling minister setting up methedist and baptist churchs in Tennessee and Kentucky. How do I find the Quaker records to see if perhaps he left the faith for another? I am trying to locate his parents as well, and maybe they were quakers.
