I'm curious how Quakers were eligible for the DAR....by the very nature of Quakerism, they couldn't have anything whatsoever to do with the war. Did children of these folks leave the faith and serve? And, if you don't have the proof of the marriage, how can you know what is listed with the DAR is incorrect? To my knowledge, the information submitted by individuals to the DAR can't be altered by others...the only thing to do is include a new set of proofs with your own submissions. Many inconsistencies/mistakes have been discovered in older submissions, and those sets of papers haven't been changed - it's made for some hard feelings, when women are no longer able to join 'on' the paperwork of their mother or grandmother, because some aspect of that earlier submission is no longer considered adequate!
