I caution you to NOT think that every and all people with the same surname are related to you....it's a big mistake to assume this to be a fact.
As a matter of fact, the Gorsuch person in Hinshaw is a woman named Ann, who, 1862-10-22 was received by the Goshen MM in Logan Co, Ohio, by REQUEST...this means that she did not come from a Quaker family, but chose to be a Friend as an adult..so, this doesn't sound as if she would be related to your family.
The Quaker faith is, indeed, of gentle origins, and one in which no person has ever been harmed or killed in the name of the faith...not something others can say, excepting, in the history of the US, the Mennonites and Amish. I'm very proud that my ancestors were Quakers and came to this continent with Penn, to help create the Quaker commonwealth of Pa.
