This is a good example of the importance of doing some reading about the history of any area we research....it may well end up saving time in the long run. In this case, Delaware Co, PA was formed from Chester County....so, in many cases you must research in both countiess ; Chester for early records and Delaware after the date it was created...1798. It is the lucky researcher who doesn't learn this lesson the hard way - by wasting a lot of time researching an area that it turns out was the WRONG area...or the wrong name....or both!
