Generally speaking, when a family joined a new meeting, all the names of the children who accompanied the parents, were included in the MM records....it could be possible, I suppose that one child stayed elsewhere, with someone else, and thus did not accompany the parents and siblings....in that case, the child would not be listed, as what IS listed is those family members who came together and joined together. The child could NOT have been a child of another still living wife, for in that case, the father would have disowned for marrying some one outside the faith, and thus would NOT be remarried with other children and joining a meeting. It's a pretty convoluted situation to think that the husband first married out, was then disowned, wife died and someone else took the child...then the husband rejoined the Friends, remarried and had additional children....
The list of children is not necessarily the births of all the children born of this couple, but the list of the children who entered this meeting with these parents. This said, I would think it very unlikely that these folks had another child who was elsewhere, and not with the parents and siblings....I'd think it much more likely that these listed children are the ONLY children of this couple!
