Quaker Death Record for Friendsville, Blount County, Tennessee

I have a 3rd great grandfather, William E. Howard born 2/4/1832 according to Hinshaw's records Volume 1, pg. 1142. He is listed with wife Milly J. & children at the Newberry MM. He is listed again in Vol. 1, page 1154 in 1869,11,6 as William E. recrq.(received by request). He died sometime between 1870-80(last time seen on 1870 census in Blount, Friendsville P. O.) & 1880 census for Unitia, Loudon Co. shows wife Milly listed as widowed. I can find no death record in the Book by Hinshaw. I am new at researching the Quaker records & wonder if I am missing something, or were death records for that area missing as a part of the compilation? Any suggestions appreciated.
