This is an itneresting post -- the 1813 time frame.I have a Robert C. DANIEL (ABT 1765-AFT 1830) who we think was married to a Penelope LANE (1773-1846) who I think was a d/o Levin LANE and Penelope BRYAN.The reason I think Levin was her father is because the name, Levin, is a passed on name and the VALLOTTON family of Burke County, GA say's Robert's wife's name was Penelope LANE.I also have her 1846 obit in which she confirms that she was the widow of Robert DANIEL of Burke County, GA and they moved to Burke County, GA in 1812 from NC.This obit was published in the SC issue of the Southern Christian Advocate (a Methodist publication) in 1846.As most know, former Quakers became Methodist in droves after the Quakers bailed out of GA in SC in the early 1800's.
I think that Robert C. DANIEL was related in some way to Aaron DANIEL RS-SC (BEF 1736-1800) and Elizabeth WHITFIELD of Cheraw District, SC.Elizabeth was the d/o Matthew WHITFIELD and Chloe WARREN of Santee, SC.As most know, the WHITFIELDS were big time Quakers, as were the BRYANS.
The one thing that makes me think they might have been quakers is they brought their American Express cards with them to Burke County, GA when they moved there.
Any information is appreciated.
