Hi there,

I am new to this site. I was born in South Africa in 1972, as were my parents and their parents.

I have a pretty comprehensive family tree for the descendants of George Albert Quail who was born in England in 1845- in Leamington in Warwickshire. He was a shopkeeper and antique seller. I suspect his father was George Albert Quail from Manchester, born in the late 1700's.I am trying to confirm this. Any info you have in relation to those persons is welcomed !

Perhaps I am related to the John Quail you refer to- there are some John Quails on our family tree who are English and who have descendants in South Africa- indeed one family with about 7 or eight children emigrated en masse to South Africa in the mid to late 1800's.

Family anecdotes suggest we originate from the Isle of Man.

My branch of the family now live in Australia, although I am based in England for a while.

I am happy to share any data I have with you.

Kind regards

Damian Quail.
