I'm wondering how my branch fits in. My greatgrandfather was James Pyne. He settled in Portland, Connecticut, USA. I was always told that he and his brother Robert came from County Cork. Robert fought in the US Civil war (his signature is supposed to be on a flag in the old Hartford Statehouse) but did not return to Connecticut after the war.
