George PYLAND, Sumter Dist., SC, 1800's

Seek names of siblings and parents of George PYLAND whose will was written in Claremont County, Sumter District, SC, 25 Sept 1812. He named the following in his will:

Daughter, Elizabeth SHARPLIN (Spelling?)
Son, Isham PYLAND
Daughter, Sarah GLOVER
Son, Edward PYLAND
Grandsons, James PYLAND and Ransom PYLAND
Daughter, Ann WHITE
Grandson, John PYLAND
Mervy (Minerva?) Ann WHITE and Barsheba Trimnal (spelling?), no relationship stated.

The land which George PYLAND gave to his daughter, Sarah GLOVER, was described as fifty acres lying on the north side of Mains Branch to be laid out from DIGGS upper corner next to Davis COLLINS' land running down said branch until he gets fifty acres. Said land also joins Henry JONES' land.

The land which George PYLAND gave to his son, Edward PYLAND, was described as one hundred acres lying on the north side of Maine (Main or Mains?) Branch, adjoining land whereon he now lives, formerly granted to Joseph FERGUSON.

No wife was mentioned or named in his will, so apparently she was deceased at the time that he had his will written. He was illiterate--he signed his will with his "X" or mark.

George PYLAND named Col. John MOORE and John PYLAND as executors of his will.

Witnesses to his will were James H. SYLVESTER, John W. MOORE, and Salome (Solomon?) HOWARD. The will was recorded 02 June 1814.

Any information that anyone can provide will be very gratefully received.
