Just browsing and I ran across this post... FYI Hardy/Lassiter/Pyland are family names in 1600/1700's Isle of Wight Co., Virginia. I have all three names in my database.
My ancestor James Pyland and wife Alexandra headrights for Francis Enland 20 June 1642.

John Hardy and wife Olive Council came to Isle of Wight Co., Va c.1650 or so.

Robert Lassiter in Nansemond Co., Va (next door) c.1650.

I descend from James Pyland. Others are allied families.
Jethro.
