Many thanks for the follow up but I fear I was clutching at straws, made an assumption and got it wrong. I was assuming that the Darrette PUTNAM, shown in the USSSDI as being born in the same year as Darrette HOARE, could possibly be the same person. This is one of my brick walls that will be so interesting if only we can overcome it. As it happens, even though Darrette PUTNAM and Darrette HOARE aren't the same person, a reply to my posting of the same enquiry onto the Genforum New Jersey forum has moved me a little closer.
Darrette HOARE didn't marry a PUTNAM at all. Apologies for any confusion.
