The Anderson family in Miss. is reported to be related to Chief Pushmataha. You may want to visit Mona Herrin's site at Reportedly, One of the Andersons was wounded at the Battle of New Orleans. He left with Pushmataha and stayed with the Indians while healing. He md. Running Deer, d/o Pushmataha, in an Indian ceremony, then again later by a traveling preacher (or Priest?) in a christian ceremony. My family descends from Running Deer. This is based on oral tradition.
