Mary,
Which Mary Pursley are you referring to? I have one that is the dau of James and Jean Pursley but my records show she married Alexander Hemphill. I have another who was also known as "Polly". She was the dau of David Pursley, the son of James and Jean Pursley. I don't have a spouse for her. Also I have no info on John McClure.
I have the following info on the children of James Pursley and Jane (Jean)McMahan:
1. Jane (Jean) Pursley born aout 1746, married William Ridley before 1788
2. Margaret Pursley born about 1750 . Married James Nichols(Nickells) before 1788.
3. Agnes Pursley married Jonathan Fitchet before 1788
4.Mary Pursley born about 1752. Died 13 Sep 1840.buried at Bethel Cemetery, York County, SC. Married Alexander Hemphill before 1788.
5. Elizabeth Pursley married John Stevenson before 1788.
6. Ephraim Pursley born about 1759 in Antrim county, Ireland died 2 Apr 1837 buried near Sharon Methodist Church, Abbeville, SC. Married Margaret E. Stevenson(Stephnson) about 1789 in York County, SC.
7. John Pursley born about 1744 died May 1803 buried Sharon ARP Churchyard, York County, SC. Married Mary Black Feb 1777.
8. James Pursley born before 1761 died 19 Jan 1819. Married Sarah McCoy/McCord 19 Apr 1792.
9. Robert Pursley born 1764. Died 5 March 1836 buried Bethel Presbyterian Churchyard, York County, SC. Married Mary Brison.
10. David Pursley born 1768 in York County, SC. Died 2 Apr1842 in Smith County TN. Revolutionary War Service. Settled in TN. First married Elizabeth Oglesby 29 Jan 1782. Married Jane Ferguson about 1788.
As stated before all of the above info has not been documented but is correct to the best of my knowledge. I am descended from Ephraim Pursley thus have followed that line more closely than the others.
