I have the following info regarding William B. Pursley. Not all of the info has been documented but is accurate to the extent I have been able to verify it:
William B. Pursley was born 30 Oct 1809 and died 05 Mar 1873. He married Martha Hair Neil 25 Feb 1833. She was the daughter of James Neil and Martha Crawford.
William B. Pursley was the son of Robert Pursley and Mary Brison. Robert Pursley was born about 1764 and died 5 Mar 1836 and is buried at Bethel Presbyterian Churchyard, York County, SC. Mary Brison was born about 1769 and died 14 Nov 1842. She is buried with her husband.
Robert Pursley was the son of James Pursley and Jane "Jean" McMahan. James Pursley was born about 1705 in Antrim County Ireland and died in 1788 in York County SC. He married Jane McMahan about 1740 probably in Antrim County, Ireland. Jean McMahan died about 1789 in SC. They were the parents of 10 children- Jane Pursley, Margaret Pursley, Agnes Pursley, Mary Pursley, Elizabeth Pursley, Ephraim Pursley, John Pursley, James Pursley, Robert Pursley, and David Pursley. I have further info on these children if needed. I am a descendant of Ephraim Pursley. I don't have any additional information on Mary Brison or Martha Hair Neill
