PURSSELLEY in Missouri

I'm searching for information on Casrell Franklin Pursselley, b abt. 1874 in Missouri, d abt 1950 in Douglas/Butler Co., KS. He married Carrie Isadore Morgan who was born in 1879 in Mansfield, MO. She died in 1967 and is buried in Wichita, KS. Her parents were Thomas Morgan and Lucindy (Lucinda?) Borders. I have found the name Casrell, misspelled as Carrell in a census and have found him listed simply as C.F. My grandfather, Glenn F. (Franklin) is their only surviving child. His siblings were Howard Raymond, Woodrow Wilson, Sherman Leslie, Minnie Geraldine, Ruth Lorainne, Marion Lucille.

I always thought that Casrell was from Kentucky or Tennessee but according to census info he was born in Missouri. His father's name may be James. Glenn remembers spending time on a farm with a man named James and he thinks it was his grandfather. (Please note that it was as a small child and he's now 88).

I was told growing up that Grandpa Pursselley stood to inherit some land if he'd change the spelling of his name. Change it to what and where the land is, I have no idea. Because the only land I have is what I had to pay for. ;-)

If any of this matches any info anyone has I'd really appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks,
Marcie Phillips
