Our David C. Pursley was born in 1847 in PA and served in the 51st PA volunteers in the Civil War. He had a "girlfriend" in Missouri and owned some property there. However, he married Ellen Rhone from PA, had 4 children (1 was my grandfather Ray Pursley)and stayed in PA all his life, running a successful lumbering business and then a furniture and appliance store. When I have my papers in front of me I will fill you in further on the property and the "girlfriend".
