Boy, do I have my family mixed up. Just found out that John J. Pursley had a brother named Jacob Pursley who was married to Violet, these are the parents of my Gertrude. The Gertrude, daughter of John and Margeret is a cousin. 1880 Census shows:
Jacob F. Pursley born in Mo, age 38
Violet born in Pa, age 32
Gerry born in Mo, age 13
Adda born in Mo, age 11
Laurie born in Ks, age 7
Harley born in KS, age 6
Estella born in Ks, age 3
Walter born in Ks, age 2
Leslie born in Ks, January 1880
