William and Eliza Purser in Mississippi

Does anyone have any idea as to why, after the death of both parents, William Purser 1815 NC and Eliza (Unknown) @1825 ALA, three of their children would go to live with Zephaniah Woodall, Jr., in Tishomingo Co., MS as indicated by the 1870 census. The census has no mention of their relationship to Zephaniah. One of these Purser children was my Grgrgrandmother Ellen MS 1854, her sister Lydia Jane, MS 1852, who later md. Thomas Wright Burt and moved to Hill Co., TX, and a brother, James M. Purser AL 1850. At some point Zephaniah himself moves to Hill Co., TX where he is buried. I would really like to identify Eliza who perhaps had a relationship to Zephaniah. Also I am seeking information on their other children: Andrew J(Henry)1840 AL, Mary 1842 AL, Sarah AL/MS 1844, Martha MS 1847, Tilda MS 1854, William R. MS 1859. Please feel free to email me directly.

Helen
