Looking for Descendants of William Purser, b. ca. 1815 NC, d. bef. 1860 Itawamba Co., MS

Are you related to these Pursers?

My gg grandmother was Ellen Purser, b. 15 Apr 1857, Itawamba Co., MS, d. 15 May 1924 Abilene (Hamby Community) Taylor Co., TX, dau. of Elizabeth Unknown and William Purser. She had the following siblings: Andrew J, b. ca. 1840 AL, Mary, b. ca. 1842 AL, Sarah, b. ca. 1844 MS, Martha, b. ca. 1847 MS, James M., b. ca. 1850 MS, Jane Lydia, b. Apr 1856 (married Thomas Wright Burt), Matilda, b. ca. 1858 MS and William R., b. ca. 1859 MS.

In 1850 and 1860 Ellen's family was in Itawamba Co., MS. By 1860 her father, William Purser was not with the family. In 1870 Ellen and her siblings, James M. and Jane Lydia were in the HH of Zephaniah Harvey Woodall and his wife, Rebecca B. Wyatt in Tishomingo Co., MS.

Some of the Pursers, Burts and Woodalls of these families migrated to Hill Co., TX by 1900.

On 30 Apr 1881, Ellen Purser married Robert L. Womack, b. 10 Apr 1857 Jackson Co., AL, d. 10 Feb 1896 AR., son of of Levi Berry Womack and Martha Bean. They had a daughter, Altie Myrtle Womack, b. 15 June 1882 MS or AR.
