I think the genealogy may go like this: David Purser, b. SC abt 1774, died 7/20/1835 in Pike County, AL., married to Annie Ingram. One of their sons was Frederick Purser, 3/30/1805, SC, died 5/7/1871, Copiah County, MS. The 1850 census for Copiah County lists Frederick, 45 yrs of age, born in SC, with wife, Benetta, 32, born in GA. It was Frederick's younger brother, Henry, whose wife, Elizabeth Ann, is listed as born in AL. Frederick and Benetta had a son, Robert Higdon Purser, born 2/16/1845, who married Sarah Montgomery Tillman, daughter of Thomas Tillman and Mary Elizabeth Ellis.
