Lillian,
I think we may have uncovered the father of William. From bits and pieces it appears that he is Richard Purser,(1802,NC-1845, Alabama). After leaving NC, he was in Henry County, GA, his first wife is listed as Delila,1786, she died suddenly. Later he moved to Marion County, MO., going finally to ALA, where he died in 1845. Richard was my 3XG granduncle, s/o my 4XG-grandfather, John Purser,(1750-1826), of Mecklenburg County, NC. I descended from Richard's brother, David Purser, (1797-abt 1832).
