Hi Jack, from what I've turned up on Charity, the father of her father, Charles Mullis, (11/7/1813-9/9/1887), was another Charles Mullis, (abt 1787), h/o Rebecca Caudle, who was the d/o Absalon Caudle and Elizabeth Maness, Absalon was a RW veteran from VA. The father of this Charles Mullis was Solomon Mullis, (abt 1757). He appears in the 1790 and 1800 NC census of Anson CO, NC in the Fayette Dist.as FWM 16+ (1), FWM under 16, (3), and FWF, (1), also signed a petition in 1800 to the NC General Assy, session of Nov-Dec. Also listed in Capt. Curlee's Company of Anson CO tax list of 1815.
