Hi John:

I'm sorry to be getting back to you so late on this, but I had to locate my infomation on the subject. You had asked about marriage dates on Elizabeth Purser to Newman and Deavers. These are the dates.

She married Seaborn Newman on Dec. 7, 1861. They had one daughter, Eula, who later married George Dees from Copiah County. I'm not sure of his death date, but Elizabeth later married William Deavers on Sept. 30, 1872. They had 3 children, 1 girl, Flora, (my grandmother) and 2 boys. She died in childbirth or shortly after the second boy.

I don.t know if there is any connectiion here with the family you are tracing or not. I am planning on going to Hazelhurst, Ms.(Copiah County) after the first of the year. Have been in contact with a Woodrow Purser and hopefully will get to meet with him. Not sure what the connection is here either.

Hope to talk to you soon. You did mention you might have some info. on some Newmans. Would love to hear more about this.

Thanks a lot.

Jean Sanders
