Two Pursers: Ireland & Wales
Posted by: Kendall D. Purser Date: October 07, 2001 at 23:53:39

I have been reading through the forum, an have noticed the two lines of Pursers. One decending from Ireland and the other from Wales.

One theory posted is that the split originated here, or in N.C. I believe that either one of these is correct, or that there is a branch even further back where the Irish and Welsh lines come together.

Personally I am from the Welsh line, the furthest back we can trace is Reese Purser in the Pembroke area. Appearently the furthest back the other line can trace is Ireland. It is very likely that the two lines meet here.

Anyone with information to support any of these theories, please contact me.

Info on the Welsh line will also be welcome.
